at the Booth Playhouse at Blumenthal Arts

Director/Music Director: Zachary Tarlton

Assistant Director: Kimm Santa

Choreographer: Colleen LeBleu

Conductor: Dr. Michael Hough

About the show:

With a book by Terrance McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty, and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, RAGTIME is the dramatic musical retelling of E.L. Doctorow's novel of the same name. Winner of the 1998 Tony Awards for Best Score, Book, and Orchestrations, RAGTIME tells the story of Black, White, and Immigrant America at the turn of the 20th century. Filled with courage, compassion, hope, and the promise that we will reach that day where these lines no longer exist, and we are all one America, one people, and one voice.

It may be 1906, and the era of RAGTIME may be coming to an end, but more than a century later, we find ourselves asking the same question and longing to still reach that day.

Join us, as we bring this TRIUMPHANT work to the stage for three performances only, featuring the original Broadway orchestrations with a 28-piece orchestra. Please note: this is an immersive production. The actors will move in and among the audience, using the aisles, gallery levels, and stage.
