About the show:
This enchanting classic of children's literature is reimagined in brilliant musical style by composer Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of 'Night Mother. Orphaned in India, 11-year-old Mary Lennox returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle Archibald and his disabled son Colin. The estate's many wonders include a magic garden which beckons the children with haunting melodies and the "Dreamers," spirits from Mary's past who guide her through her new life, dramatizing The Secret Garden's compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal.
Book by Marsha Norman
Music and Lyrics by Lucy Simon
Based on the children’s novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett
The Secret Garden is presented by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals. www.concordtheatricals.com
*The Saturday Matinee at 2:00pm is a FREE performance for education only, made possible by a grant from the Arts and Science Council.

CO-DIRECTOR
Allison Modafferi (she/her) is thrilled to be coming onboard with QC Concerts to help creatively stage one of her childhood favorites! She’s loved working with kids (and grown up kids too!) as a yoga instructor, musician, theatre artist, former Children’s Theatre SOTT teacher, and former Music Advisor for Playing for Others. Her directing credits include The Wizard of Oz (Theatre Charlotte), Love Loss and What I Wore (Theatre Charlotte), [sic] (Charlotte’s Off-Broadway), Suitcase (BareBones), and the Theatre for Change series (Evening Muse). She also sharpened her skills Assistant Directing many shows, including The Glass Menagerie (Charlotte Rep) and the Drama Desk nominated Voice of the Turtle (Keen Company, NYC).
